The ordering process

Choose your style.

Think about what will work for you and your feet.

Choose your leather.

We can send you samples of leather to show finish and colour. Flexability and finishes can vary. The colours can also vary as it is natural product.

Choose your sole.

Vibram is hard wearing and chunky.

Crepe is a natural rubber, it softens quickly and becomes extremely comfortable. It can be made into a flat sole, a wedge or with a 1cm heel.

Ridge is made from rubber and can also be made into a flat sole, a wedge or with a 1cm heel.

EVA in brown is comfy and lightweight and can be made into a flat sole, a wedge or with a 1cm heel.

Foot drawings

Stand on paper with your socks on for shoes and boots, or socks off for sandals.

Ask someone to draw round your feet keeping the pencil upright all the way around each foot.

Measure around the widest part of your foot using a tape measure.

For boot orders, measure around your ankle and leg using a tape measure starting at 10cm from the floor and continuing up your leg at intervals of 10cm.

Inform us of your usual shoe size and anything special about your feet for example high instep, bunions, different sized feet, wide or narrow feet or extra high toes. Photos may help.

Send this information to us at Bracken and Sole, Bridford Mill, Bridford, Exeter, Devon, EX6 7LB.

We will be in touch if we have any follow up questions or if there are extra charges for special fittings.

Fittings

To ensure that you are happy with your footwear, we will ask you to try your footwear on before the sole is attached. If there are any alterations needed this is the easiest stage to do them.

When having a fitting, make sure that you are wearing the socks (or not) that you would normally wear.

You will try on your footwear inside for about 10 minutes to make sure there isn’t any pinching or slipping.
